Jane Kirby is a fashion illustrator, formerly worked in the Conde Nast beauty dept. & beauty blogger to be. Not to mention she’s one of our biggest supporters and a friend. We asked her some questions on life, beauty and her go-to Goldfaden MD product. Here’s what she had to say!

1. What is your definition of beauty?
A radiant complexion and life filled with my family, friends and my beloved cat Taco.

2. What and who inspires you?
Editor-in-Chief Polly Blitzer of www.beautyblitz.com has always been a great inspiration. Her unparalleled excitement and unique eye for all things beauty is aspirational for me. That coupled with a genuinely kind personality makes her a delight to be around.

3. What is your beauty routine?
I cleanse my face with Orlane Purifying Lotion. This is followed by Orlane Anagenese 25+ Morning Recovery Concentrate Serum. Next, I apply Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve eye cream. For a moisturizer I’ll use Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone cream. I treat my neck with Goldfaden MD Plant Profusion Lifting Neck Cream. Usually I’ll switch up moisturizers with SPF according to the season.

4. What is one skincare product you cannot live without (you don’t have to choose GFMD)?
Nighttime: Biodara Luminous Cleansing Oil to remove makeup.
Daytime: Eyeko’s Black Magic Mascara daily, it’s a key part of my signature look
Bi-weekly: Gentle peel I’ll use Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing mask
Everyday: The skincare product I cannot live without is Orlane Creme Royale Elixir Cream

5. How old were you when you painted the first time?
I began painting fashion illustrations in high school. My mother, Diana Robinson, is a British Milliner and artist. She taught me the love of expressing oneself through color and form.

6. What is your favorite color?
Red. I especially love it in the rich, jewel toned red found in the luxury organic cosmetic packaging of Kjaer Weis.

7. What is your favorite word?
My favorite word is luminous. It describe an ‘other worldly glow’ and connotes an air of mystery.

8. What is your favorite smell?
Gardenia mixed with tuberose. I’m addicted to the fragrances Bond 09 “Saks Fifth Avenue for Her,” Rojas “Lilly” and Robert Picquet “Fracas”.

9. What was the catalyst for you to start “women in beauty” series?
My admiration of various women in beauty: new leaders and industry veterans. I had a great opportunity to segue this work into live ten minute client portraits for Emily Dougherty Beauty Director at Elle, Julia Sloan at NARS, Sephora Times Square, NYC flagship stores and many private birthday, holiday events.

10. What is a typical breakfast for you?
A typical breakfast starts with a cup of my brother’s coffee based on Orcas Island, Seattle. I have it shipped by the bags! Next I’ll eat a banana with slow cooked oatmeal. Often I’ll add fresh raspberries for an anti-oxidant measure!
